Hajj – The World’s Largest Pilgrimage   Leave a comment

Every year, hundreds of thousands of Muslims make a pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, where they visit the most holy sites of their religion. It is a Muslim’s duty to make this pilgrimage at least once in their lifetime. In this documentary, the filmmaker, a non-practicing American Muslim decides to join his parents on their Hajj in order to experience as well as to document the whole experience.
Usually cameras are not allowed into the several holy sites seen in this documentary but the narrator managed to get some incredible footage. We introduced to the various parts of the Hajj, such as the flights to get there, the bus travels, throwing stones at the devil, and the holiest place of all in their religion, the Kaaba. We also see the incredible logistical effort that the Saudi government makes in order to sustain the huge influx of visitors.
